The Human Jukebox Project is vaguely obsessed with how to approach jazz in the modern age. "Cover" is usually a dirty word--it often implies a heartless karaoke track.

But here's the thing: All those old-timey tunes we think of as jazz songs--the tunes that fill the pages of the Great American Songbook--well, they were all brand-new tunes at one point, weren't they? Jazz is recreation. It always has been. It's a way to approach lyrics and harmonies and melodies. It is not a song itself.

So, with a little track selection help from incredible Kickstarter backers, The Human Jukebox Project is a collection of eight songs you may know--from soul classics to 1990s sugar-pop hits--and that you're about to fall in love with again.
